Our rich breakfast buffet is served every morning in the restaurant and is already included in the room rate.

Golden brown baked croissants, light and dark rolls, a great selection of different toppings and a morning breakfast egg (preparation of your choice) whet your appetite and ensure a good start to the day.

Put together a delicious muesli : Numerous ingredients such as oatmeal, raisins, dried fruits, coconut flakes and various seeds and kernels are ready for your own personal favourite mixture. You can refine the whole thing with quark, delicious yoghurt and fresh fruit.

The Black Forest makes hikers’ hearts beat faster: With Belchen, Schauinsland and Hochblauen, there are three great panoramic mountains in the region, from the summit of which you can enjoy magnificent views as far as the Swiss Alps and over the Rhine Valley to the Vosges.
The Feldberg is also not far away. The popular hiking and skiing area on the highest mountain in the Black Forest can be reached in just under an hour’s drive.

Border triangle

Alsace and Switzerland are also not far away here in the border triangle (Germany-France-Switzerland). Day trips to Basel or Mulhouse, Colmar and Strasbourg are just as suitable as extended hikes through the southern Black Forest.

About us, hosts in the 4th generation

It began in 1929…

The founder of the hospitality-oriented company was grandmother Anna – one of the few female entrepreneurs of the first half of the last century. She courageously ran the small guesthouse on Obere Kirchweg. War, occupation, new beginnings – that was their time.

Son Ernst and wife Tilla expanded, enlarged and embellished the ANNA during the boom years. We children can remember well – every winter there was extensive construction.

The daughters Gabriela and Karin led the small, fine 4-star hotel into the 21st century. We don’t build something new every year, but we renovate every winter so that the ANNA remains contemporary. We always try to see everything through the eyes of the guest.

Anna Gmelin’s great-granddaughter Tamara ANNA Karle joined the family business in 2019 – so we can name the fourth generation. And the 5th generation is already taken care of: Emilia ANNA Karle was born on 21.9.2019. So the “women’s economy” continues.

Thousands of guests come and go at ANNA every year. Many are “repeat offenders”. The atmosphere of the house is appreciated – a feel-good atmosphere characterized by long-standing employees with a great sense of hospitality and the personal commitment of the family.

Instead of the usual half board, we serve fresh and varied food every evening:
3 high-quality, regional, seasonal courses at 35 euros per person.

The pampering menu can be expanded to a four-course or five-course menu.
You can choose this every day at breakfast.

Friends and acquaintances can also enjoy this pleasure with you, which is otherwise reserved exclusively for ANNA guests.

Every lunchtime we serve a soup with fresh farmhouse bread. This service is included in the room rate for ANNA guests.

Comfort starts with the room

An important prerequisite for a pleasant stay is comfort and that starts with the room.
To make you feel really comfortable, we have placed particular emphasis on spaciousness and brightness in the furnishings. Good materials and pleasant colours – that goes without saying. Do you have problems with the mattress? Too hard – too soft? We have a mattress pool and try until we find the right one for you. The same goes for all the other “bed” ingredients, of course. Allergy pillows, beds – light summer blankets, extra woolen blankets … we take care of your sleeping comfort.
Our beds are usually 1m wide and 2m long. In some rooms the bed width is even 1.20m….

One of the endearing features is that we also offer a shoe shine service and you will always find a flower greeting in your room.

All our rooms are non-smoking.
